Southbound lane of MLK Jr. Drive to be closed Tuesday for cellular tower modifications

ALBANY, Ga. – Turning now to a community announcement for Albany drivers, today, the southbound lane of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive will be temporarily closed.

This closure is due to modifications being made at a cellular tower located at 401 Wadkins Drive. Please note that both the southbound lane and the center left-turn lanes will be affected.

To ensure safety, barriers, cones, and the assistance of three police officers will be utilized during this time. However, flagmen will be present to facilitate traffic flow in both directions, allowing passage through the northbound lane.

Drivers should anticipate traffic delays and consider using alternative routes if possible. The work is expected to last approximately eight hours and should be completed after 4 p.m.
