Crisp Academy teacher arrested for child molestation
CORDELE, Ga. – At approximately 3:15 pm Wednesday, a teacher at Crisp Academy was arrested by the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office for allegedly molesting a student.
38-year-old Allison Griswold was taken into custody after a mandated reporter notified the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office about evidence of improper contact between a teacher and a juvenile.
After an investigation, Griswold was charged with aggravated child molestation, improper contact by an employee, two counts with obscene telephone contact with a child, and carrying weapons within a school safety zone.
This is an active and ongoing investigation with additional charges pending. Griswold was terminated moments before the arrest. She was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Crisp County Detention Center.
Crisp Academy Headmaster Tim Hathcock told CBS 44 News, “The safety of our kids is our primary concern and we’re always looking for methods to make things better and we’ll continue.”
