GBI investigating quadruple shooting in Fitzgerald; 17-year-old arrested, 1 killed, 4 injured in after-prom party shooting

FITZGERALD, Ga. – On Sunday, April 28th, a juvenile was arrested in connection with a shooting at an after-prom party in Fitzgerald.

Channen Brown, the 17-year-old faces charges including felony murder, aggravated assault, and firearm possession. The incident led to the tragic death of 15-year-old Chyell Paulk, with a 19-year-old and two minors injured.

Fitzgerald Police sought Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) assistance after the shooting at East Pine Street around 1:10 a.m.

Paulk’s body will be sent to GBI Crime Lab in Macon on Wednesday for an autopsy.
