Former employee arrested, police chase ends at Worth Co. Middle School
WORTH Co., Ga. – Chief Ronald Jackson confirms the Sylvester Police Department received a call around 7:30 a.m. from the mother of Karim Monts about her son damaging the inside of her home in Sylvester.
Monts, a former employee of Worth County Middle School, who resigned in February, fled his mother’s home overnight.
Police spotted the suspect’s black vehicle around Worth County Middle School, which led police on a high-speed chase around the school for 10 minutes before coming to a dead end on school property.
Worth Co. Schools Superintendent Nehemiah Cummings says students were notified of the incident at 7:50 a.m. and were safely kept inside the school and not sent home.
Monts faces charges of possession of cocaine, possession of marijuana, fleeing or attempting to elude, criminal damage to property, and driving under the influence (DUI).
