Albany’s Annual Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt scheduled for March 25th-29th
ALBANY, Ga. – As the vibrant colors of spring begin to bloom, downtown management for the City of Albany bring the community together for a joyous celebration of the season, with their Annual Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt.
Although the scavenger hunt is catered to ages 12 and under, this beloved event has become a cherished tradition, eagerly anticipated by residents of all ages.
From bustling city streets to serene suburban neighborhoods, participants embark on an enchanting journey filled with clues, challenges, and of course, the thrill of discovery as they hunt for hidden treasures scattered throughout the community.
…I think I have already searched this area….Oh! Hello everyone! Unfortunately after searching the streets of Albany, I have not been able to find anything as of yet. But, fear not! Because I was able to stumble across the Downtown Manager for the city of Albany, Lequrica Gaskins, who has more details on this Easter egg scavenger hunt…
“Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt this year takes place March 25th through March 29th. The event has been running for some time, we started it back up in 2019, and we have had a Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt in the downtown ever since. The response is always great. It’s an opportunity for kids to come down with their parents and be able to enjoy a fun, festive type of atmosphere here within the downtown area. We’re able to work with community organizations with the highlight of organizations that focus in on providing a service to our youth within the community. Our Downtown Manager’s Office takes the lead in making the coordination in facilitating the hidden clues for the scavenger hunt. Big, gigantic decorated eggs, are hidden within a special place within the downtown. They are able to get big, gigantic baskets that are full of goodies. The Downtown Manager’s Office provides the big golden egg on the last day of the Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt and that golden egg, it normally takes precedence over providing extra prizes and goodies, because it’s the golden egg!” said Lequrica Gaskins, Downtown City Manager.
Lequrica Gaskins, along with a dedicated downtown management team, have meticulously curated this experience, blending education and entertainment. While including significant landmarks, the scavenger hunt aims to give participants a deeper understanding of Albany’s heritage.
“We utilize this as an option and an opportunity for us to inform, educate and engage the community about special resources and places that are located within our downtown. So, the clues are normally hidden as an opportunity for us to engage the community, but also to inform them about a property or special place that are located downtown, just that it serves as a memory that that resource is certainly there and available within our downtown communities,” said Gaskins.
Beginning March 25th, the city’s official downtown social media platforms will share daily clues each day at 5pm throughout the week.
…Well, ladies and gentlemen, unfortunately, my search has come to an end. But, yours has just begun. And, you might just crack the code and discover the ultimate treasure!
