UPDATE: Colquitt Co. aggravated assault suspected captured, taken into custody
HARTSFIELD, Ga. – The Colquitt Co. Sheriff’s Office reported that Timothy Dean Melton was captured on Friday evening around 9 p.m.
The sheriff’s office stated, “Melton was taken into custody around 9pm on March 15th, 2024. Thanks for the tips and help that led to his arrest.”
On Thursday afternoon, law enforcement patrol units in Colquitt county established a perimeter around the 2900 block of Mitchell County Line Road in Hartsfield as part of a search for a suspect on the run, Timothy Dean Melton.
Melton is currently wanted in connection with a violent aggravated assault that took place Thursday morning. Tracking dogs, drones, and Georgia State Patrol (GSP) aviation were deployed to assist in the search efforts.
