2 injured in Albany drive-by shooting, 1 injured in nearby shooting

ALBANY, Ga. – Around 6:28 p.m. on Tuesday, March 5 officers responded to a drive-by shooting incident at the 400 block of North Carroll Street.

A woman was observed with two possible gunshot wounds — one in her left forearm and one in her lower left abdomen.

She said she was standing in her yard with a group of people when a blue Dodge Charger pulled up shooting at them.

Another man was treated for a visible gunshot wound to his left wrist.

The victim said two guns were pointed out of the passenger front seat window and started shooting.

Officers talked with two individuals who witnessed the shooting. One of the witnesses was sitting in a vehicle on the scene when she said she saw the suspected vehicle. She told police that the car was full of men and she could only make out the front passenger. The man had two guns and a gray ski mask.

Four other witnesses were inside the house, but they only heard the gunshots, and did not see what happened.

At the scene, officers collected five 9mm shell casings and two .45 caliber shell casings in front of the home, and one 9mm round, as well as a 2004 Grand Marquis that had a bullet hole in the hubcap, and a piece of metallic jacket inside the tire.

A third individual arrived at Phoebe Emergency Room with a gunshot wound in his right calf.

When officers arrived at the ER, he told them that he was walking within the East Roosevelt Avenue area when he heard gunshots.

He stated that he didn’t know who shot him or where they were shooting from. He ran away from the area to Woodlands Apartments after he was shot. He said his sister took his sister took him to the hospital.

It is unclear if the third victim was shot by the suspects in the blue Dodge Charger.

This case is active and ongoing.
