Today’s Weather Authority Forecast: June 18, 2021

Slight chance of t-storms returns this afternoon. Heavier bands of rain & breezy conditions arrive tomorrow PM-Father’s Day as remnants of the tropical system passes by to our northwest.
We will likely have a Tropical Depression or possibly Tropical Storm Claudette make landfall along the northern Gulf coast of Louisiana on Saturday AM before curving northeast as a Tropical Depression into Sunday over north AL/GA. Keep in mind, changes to this forecast are possible. And, impacts will be felt well outside of the cone! SWGA will see gusty winds over 30 mph in outer feeder bands in our western counties depending on how close the tropical system moves to SWGA. We could see 3″-5″ of rain especially in our far western counties near the GA/AL line with 1″-3″ for most of the area between Sunday-Wednesday of next week. Heavy Rainfall may occur even after the remnants of the tropical system exits the region as a cold front moves in on Tuesday.
I will be closely monitoring this tropical system over the weekend for any changes!
