GBI, Bainbridge Public Safety investigating murder, 1 killed, 3 arrested
BAINBRIDGE, Ga. – On Sunday, February 25, 2024, at approximately 5:50 p.m., Bainbridge Public Safety requested the GBI to assist with the murder investigation of Oharra Reggynaulde Thomas (23 years old) which took place outside his apartment located at 1403 Avenue A in Bainbridge, Georgia. An autopsy will be performed on Thomas at the GBI Crime Lab.
Agens arrived on scene and partnered with Bainbridge Public Safety Investigators and began the investigation. Decatur County Sheriff’s Deputies also assisted with processing of the crime scene. Evidence recovered from the scene will be analyzed and processed to aid investigators with the case.
So far, the investigation has determined that Thomas was in an argument with his girlfriend and several other of her family members. The argument escalated and Thomas was then shot multiple times by Anthony Tyrome Chandler (26 years old), the brother of Thomas’s girlfriend. Angela Balogun (44 years old), the mother of Thomas’s girlfriend, and Brianna Chandler (24 years old), a sister of Thomas’s girlfriend was also arrested and charged in this incident and taken to the Decatur County Jail.

Angela Balogun – Charged with:
1. Tampering With Evidence
2. Aggravated Assault
3. Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Crime
Brianna Chandler – Charged with:
1. Aggravated Assault
2. Hindering the Apprehension of a Fugitive
This case is active and ongoing and anyone with information on this case is asked to call the GBI Thomasville Office at 229-225-4090 or Bainbridge Public Safety at 229-248-2038. Once complete, this case file will be turned over to the South Georgia Judicial Circuit District Attorney’s Office for prosecution.
