CBS 44 Weather Authority Forecast: January 24, 2024

A warm Wednesday would be an understatement with Albany, GA tied a record high of 80° set in 1913, 1943, & 1950! Patchy dense morning fog the next few nights and mornings. Slow it down, use the low beam headlights, and allow for extra time to reach your destination and plenty of space between you and the vehicle in front of you when traveling. Thursday will be another toasty day mainly in the upper 70s, but a few spots in the 80s again. There is a Marginal Risk (level 1/5) of severe weather over the far western counties for possibility of an isolated strong t’storm late Thursday afternoon. Another round of rain and t’storms on Friday as a frontal boundary remains stationary. On Saturday, a wave of low pressure will increase rain and t’storm chances areawide. A Slight Risk (level 2/5) of severe weather over the far western counties on Saturday. Severe weather potential, for now, looks to be fairly low and isolated. Main threats include: a damaging wind gust & a brief, isolated tornado. Locally heavy downpours that may result in flash flooding is possible. Rainfall totals 1″-2″. Heaviest totals northwest of the area 2″-4″. Breezy and cooler on Sunday. Frost is still possible Tuesday and Wednesday mornings.
