Indiana murder fugitive apprehended by Wilcox Co. Sheriff’s Office and Rochelle Police
ROCHELLE, Ga. – According to our new partners with The Cordele Dispatch, earlier today, the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force contacted Wilcox County Sheriff Jeff Wessel about a fugitive that may be in Wilcox County.
Sheriff Wessel then met with Rochelle Police Chief Jimmy Banks about the possibility of a fugitive in their jurisdiction.
The Rochelle Police Department and Wilcox County Sheriff’s Office soon began investigating this possibility.
Chief Banks and Officer Eno had previously made contact with an unfamiliar subject that fit the profile of this fugitive.
They began comparing information and concluded that this individual was likely the fugitive.
Sheriff Wessel then called upon the US Marshal’s Office and the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force.
Sheriff Wessel, Chief Deputy Carmichael, Deputy Johnson, Deputy Collier, Chief Banks, Officer Eno, Officer Maglothin, a US Marshal agent, and a Fugitive Task Force Agent made contact with the subject at AV’s Convenience Store.
They took the subject (Anthony Castleman) in custody without incident.
Castleman was wanted on murder charges from Huntington county Indiana. Huntington County Sheriff’s Office
The subject was indeed the fugitive that was wanted for murder! This was a great cooperative effort by all agencies involved!
