Downtown Albany and Micro-Business Enterprise Center promotes growth and expansion with Downtown Business Incubator Program
ALBANY, Ga. – The Department of Communications and Economic Development unveil and innovative initiative aimed at catalyzing downtown growth in Albany.
Downtown Albany and the Micro-Business Enterprise Center have united their efforts to foster business expansions in the heart of the city.
Leveraging the specialized expertise of the Micro-Business Enterprise Center, Albany is dedicated to building a vibrant and lasting economic environment in the downtown area.
The goal is to nurture growth and ensure the sustainability of businesses, establishing a dynamic economic ecosystem.
“The inspiration behind creating the program was that we know that our downtown is working very diligently with that downtown manager’s office to create an atmosphere downtown that’s conducive for Albany, Georgia. We are trying to revitalize that downtown by bringing businesses, viable businesses into the area. So, as economic development, we know that means that bringing businesses means jobs to the Albany area. So, we created this project or this program so that we can help enhance that and bring that revitalization into place,” said Barbara Francis-Armistead, Economic Development Program Manager.
This partnership aims to provide essential resources and support budding entrepreneurs, offering guidance on business development, financial management, and marketing strategies.
“So, with that Downtown Business Incubator Program that allows businesses to come in, retail businesses or other nonprofit organization businesses to come in to the downtown area, and we will work with them by providing resources for them. We will also provide a stimulus for their rent on a monthly basis for 24 months, and then we’ll be reimbursing them for a couple of other things, like their business license, because we want to enhance our downtown area and make a welcoming place for the citizens of Albany to come,” said Barbara Francis-Armistead, Economic Development Program Manager.
Interested individuals are encouraged to secure their slots promptly.
“We have a certain amount of slots available for those. So, if you’re interested in it, please give us a call. My number here to reach us is 229-483-7650. And, again, my name is Barbara Francis-Armistead, and we welcome the opportunity to serve the business owners of our community,” said Barbara Francis-Armistead, Economic Development Program Manager.
