Cordele PD investigating after 2 involved in shooting at Odom’s Pool Room

CORDELE, Ga. – On December 16th, the Cordele Police Department swiftly responded to reports of a shooting at Odom’s Pool Room on 412 West 16th Avenue following multiple 911 calls.

Upon arrival, officers found a 32-year-old woman with a gunshot wound, providing immediate aid until EMS arrived. Meanwhile, another victim that was shot, 44-year-old Jemiah Blount, had already left the scene in a personal vehicle. EMS transported the female to Crisp Regional Hospital.

Further investigation revealed that Blount, employed as security at Odom’s Pool Room, engaged in a verbal altercation leading to gunfire between himself and an unidentified male.

During the altercation, the female victim, standing across the street in a parking lot, was shot. Additionally, two vehicles, one parked at Odom’s Pool Room and another traveling on 16th Avenue, were reported to have been hit by gunfire.

After receiving treatment for injuries, Blount was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during certain crimes, and terrorism acts.
