Ocilla native promoted to Assistant Special Agent in Charge of GBI’s Regional Investigative Office in Eastman

OCILLA, Ga. – The Georgia Bureau of Investigation announces the promotion of Joe Hilton to Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the GBI’s Regional Investigative Office in Eastman, GA. ASAC Hilton will be responsible for assisting with the daily operations and supervision of special agents assigned to the office.

“I congratulate ASAC Joe Hilton who has been a dedicated agent for a number of years,” said GBI Director Chris Hosey. “He will be a great leader as he continues his work in our office in Eastman.”

“ASAC Hilton has a reputation of working hard and being a team player to help advance the GBI mission,” said GBI Division Director Cynthia Adkins. “He will do an excellent job as a supervisor in our Eastman regional office.”

ASAC Hilton began his career with the GBI in 2015 as a special agent assigned to the Regional Investigative Office in Douglas, GA. ASAC Hilton transferred to the Southwest Regional Drug Enforcement Office in Albany, GA in 2020 and has been there ever since. ASAC Hilton completed the FBI Hazardous Devices School in 2021 and is a Certified Bomb Technician with the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

ASAC Hilton graduated from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Business Marketing.

ASAC Hilton is from Ocilla, GA.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is comprised of four divisions: the Georgia Crime Information Center, the Crime Laboratory, the Investigative Division, and the Legal Division. The GBI has over 900 employees and a current budget of $147,482,036.
