Phoebe Foundation partnering with Children’s Miracle Network to host 35th annual ‘Jingle Bell Jog’ event this Saturday

December 6, 2023
Matthew Crumley,

ALBANY, Ga. – This Saturday, hundreds are going to come together at Tift Park for the 35th annual Jingle Bell Jog…. a Phoebe Foundation tradition geared towards helping kids.

The Phoebe Foundation partners with the Children’s Miracle Network with the goal of raising tens of thousands of dollars.

Foundation leader, Parker Douglas talks about how the jog and partnering with the Children’s Miracle Network helps.

“What that means is that when you donate to any of the locations in the Southwest Region, the money comes to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital to fund anything children services related. Anything from our NICU to our Pediatric floor here at Phoebe main…” said Parker Douglas, Phoebe Foundation.

According to Douglas, Saturday’s jog is going to be raising money to help the hospital’s continued expansion of their NICU.

“This year in particular, all of the proceeds will go to benefit the new NICU that is being built right now on our campus. Anywhere from $50,000-$100,000 can be raised from these jogs…” said Douglas.

And, when we say hundreds are going to be coming out, we mean hundreds who are going to be doing something good for child patients.

“In the world of philanthropy and hospital systems, every dollar counts. So, we are thrilled to have 500 plus runners come out every year to start off the holiday season with us, and raise money for kids and a great cause,” said Douglas.

But, helping the kids is truly what matters in the holiday season.

“I think it means everything. For people to come, spend some time, spend their morning with us at the Jingle Bell Jog. And, to help raise money for our smallest patients at Phoebe; that is invaluable. And, we’re so appreciative of every dollar, every runner, and every person that walks in the Jingle Bell Jog every year,” said Douglas.

In the season of giving, the jog is going to help further Phoebe’s efforts to keep helping young lives.

If you’re interested in registering, you can sign up at supportphoebe.org, or come out to Tift Park this Saturday, December 9th before 7:30 am in the morning.
