Last Bibb Co. escaped inmate Joey Fournier captured near Stockbridge
BIBB Co., Ga – The last of the escaped four inmates, Joey Fournier, was captured on Saturday after a manhunt that started when they escaped from the Bibb County Jail on Oct. 16.
52-year-old Joey Fournier was captured without incident on Saturday near Stockbridge, according to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office as part of a joint operation by the (USMS) Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Deputies, Henry County Sheriff’s Office Deputies, Henry County Police, Clayton County Sheriff’s Office Deputies, and Clayton County Police.
Bibb County Sheriff David Davis said, “We are grateful that this last escapee has been captured. My heartfelt appreciation goes out to all of the hard-working law enforcement officers from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and from all of our partner agencies who worked tirelessly to bring these four fugitives back into custody.”
Fournier was returned to the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center later on Saturday.
Fournier was charged with killing his ex-girlfriend Cynthia Berry in February of 2022, in the Barrington Hall subdivision in Macon.
