Albany Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business Awards ceremony
ALBANY, Ga. – Recognizing local business excellence, the Albany Area Chamber of Commerce host their prestigious award ceremony, honoring outstanding businesses in Albany.
The Albany Area Chamber of Commerce convened for an evening dedicated to acknowledgement and inspiration during their annual Business Awards ceremony at the Albany Municipal Auditorium.
This significant event aims to highlight and celebrate local businesses in Albany that have made a lasting impact on the community.
“The Chamber’s Business Awards are a pretty extensive and rigorous process. It begins months and months in advance with nominations from throughout our community of businesses to be considered in five categories this year that goes through a vetting process. Businesses then apply. There’s a rigorous application process, and then they’re vetted by a volunteer committee of the Albany Area Chamber who has a metric, a rubric to be able to evaluate businesses and organizations on a variety of different points, to showcase where they’re excelling,” said Bárbara Rivera Holmes, President & CEO, Albany Area Chamber of Commerce.

“We’re expanding the Albany Area Chamber Business Awards every year to make sure we’re capturing and really recognizing the diversity of organizations in our community. This year, we’re honored to be able to recognize businesses that are veteran owned and women owned. We also have our uniquely Albany Award, our Nonprofit of the Year, and our Small Business of the Year award,” she said.
Bárbara Rivera Holmes discusses the significance of local businesses and their integral role in enhancing the vibrancy and prosperity of the community.
“We know that local businesses are the backbone of our community and they provide the feeling, they provide the pride that we all take in our community. Recognizing Albany’s outstanding businesses in a variety of sectors, variety of sizes and a variety of contributions to our community and our economy, elevates the feel of the community and elevates the business community as well,” she said.
