Americus Police, GBI investigating deadly shooting at Eastview Apartments

AMERICUS, Ga. – At 7:15 p.m. Monday, Americus Police swiftly responded to a shooting at Eastview Apartments.

Two victims received immediate aid and were rushed to Phoebe Sumter Regional Medical Center.

Sadly, one of the victims, 22-year-old Jahlin Sims, died at the hospital.

The other victim, 27-year-old Anfranee Smothers, was airlifted to a Macon trauma center in serious condition.

This incident is being investigated jointly by the Americus Police Department and the GBI.
