Crisp Co.’s Royce Reeves, Sr. turns himself in, charged a misdemeanor of theft by taking of campaign signs

CORDELE, Ga. – Around 1:15 pm Monday, Royce Reeves Sr., a 51-year-old resident of Cordele, voluntarily surrendered himself at the Crisp County Detention Center.

This surrender followed the issuance of a warrant for his arrest on October 23rd related to a misdemeanor charge of theft by taking. Subsequently, Reeves appeared before a Magistrate Judge, who granted him bail, and an individual posted bond for his release.

The incident originated from a report received by the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office on October 19th regarding the removal of city council campaign signs from various locations in Cordele.

After a comprehensive investigation, it was determined that Reeves was responsible for the removal of these campaign signs.
