Vehicle hijacking in the 700 block of North Washington Street
ALBANY, Ga. – At 9:46 a.m. Saturday, Albany law enforcement officers encountered 31-year-old Javier Qunone in the 700 block of North Washington Street.
Qunone reported that he had been the victim of an armed robbery while changing a flat tire.
During the incident, an unidentified male, later identified as 19-year-old Montaque Seay, brandished a firearm and forcibly took Quinn-own’s 2006 black Lexus LS 250.
Following this report, officers observed the stolen vehicle heading in the direction of the Mount Zion Apartments.
Seay attempted to flee but was apprehended after a brief foot chase.
He is charged with motor vehicle hijacking and was transported to the Dougherty County Jail.
