Bibb Co. Sheriff’s Office searching for four escaped inmates
MACON, Ga. – The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating four inmates who have escaped from the Bibb County Detention Center.
The inmates escaped from the detention center by breaking a day room window and cutting through a fence after a blue Dodge Challenger pulled up to the location at 3:00 a.m. on Monday.
The escapees include 52-year-old Joey Fournier, who was being held for murder, 24-year-old Marc Kerry Anderson, who faced charges of aggravated assault, 37-year-old Johnifer Dernard Barnwell, who was detained by the United States Marshals, and 29-year-old Chavis Demaryo Stokes, who was being held for possession of a firearm and drug trafficking.
Authorities including the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force, the FBI, and the U.S. Marshals Office are actively searching for these escaped inmates.
Schools in Macon were placed on lockdown early this morning upon the escape of the four inmates.
