Dougherty Co. Coroner provides update in investigation of human skeletal remains found behind Crown Hill Cemetery

ALBANY, Ga. – There’s been progress made in an investigation we brought you earlier this month.

An unidentified persons’ bones were found in the woods behind Crown Hill Cemetery.

Coroner Michael Fowler says that investigations into the remains have found surgical screws found in the unidentified victims lower back and leg bones.

Fowler says that while it hasn’t gotten them much closer to figuring out who the victim is, it helps to narrow down the search.

The investigation is currently being handled by the Albany Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Unit.
