APD apprehends suspect in Tuesday afternoon shooting

ALBANY, Ga. – Around 2:23 p.m. Tuesday, law enforcement personnel promptly responded to reports of a shooting incident in the 700 block of East Town Road.

At the scene, officers discovered 21-year-old Jayden Keon Lockette suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Lockette was promptly transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition.

Officers conducted a thorough search of the vicinity and apprehended 21-year-old Kevious Malaki Anderson as he attempted to flee the area.

Anderson was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Dougherty County Jail, where he faces an aggravated assault charge. Additional charges are expected.
