Albany theft & burglary suspect with 19 warrants arrested

ALBANY, Ga. – Approximately 2 a.m. Tuesday, Albany Police officers observed a tan Chevy Silverado parked in the parking lot of 2031 North Slappey Boulevard, where a Dollar General is located.

Subsequently, officers initiated contact with an individual named Robert Cook in relation to his presence on the premises of a closed business after hours.

Upon investigation, officers uncovered that Cook was the subject of 19 active warrants issued by the Dougherty County School System Police. These warrants encompassed several charges, including multiple counts of second-degree burglary, possession of a tool in commission of a crime, criminal damage to property in the second degree, and Georgia RICO charges.

In light of these active warrants, Cook was apprehended and transported to the Dougherty County Jail.

Inside the vehicle, officers discovered various pieces of lawn equipment and tools. A-1 Wrecker Service was promptly dispatched, and the truck was towed to their impound lot for a more thorough investigation.

Cook will be investigated for more theft cases, including surrounding counties.
