Mitchell Co. Sheriff’s Office investigates Baconton entering autos
BACONTON, Ga. – Over the weekend, there have been a few reports of entering autos across the Baconton area, including Jackson Street, Church Street, and Phylis Circle.
Mitchell County Sheriff Investigators, Jacob Pollock and Richard Sanders, have been working diligently to solve these cases and find those responsible.
“We’ve got complaints of several entering autos. We don’t know an exact number quite yet. We are still getting more, we had a couple more call in today. It has been just the Baconton area as of this point, we haven’t had anything outside of the Baconton area,” said Jacob Pollock, Mitchell County Sheriff Investigator.
How the suspects are entering into vehicles?
“What we can gather from what we have so far, people are just going and pulling on door handles to vehicles that are unlocked. There has not been any actual physical break-ins, other than people who leave their car doors unlocked,” said Pollock.
How residents can prevent someone from entering their vehicle?
“We want to ask for the public’s assistance and making sure they remove valuables from the vehicles. Anything of value; purses, guns, firearms, anything like that. And to lock their vehicles and make sure they secure their vehicles before they go in at night,” said Pollock.
