Albany Recreation & Parks previews fishing rodeo & pickleball events
ALBANY, Ga. – The Albany Recreation and Parks Department always value community and they are always looking for new ways to cater to the citizens of the Good Life City.
The ARPD have a series of events coming up as Velvet Poole, Community Events Superintendent, previews some of the events to come.
“We did a summer group of fishing rodeos, we first started out at Radium Springs Garden where we had about 80 people participate. We then went to Robert Cross Park. But, this is our last fishing rodeo of the season. Bring your bait and your pole, we will have food for the family and games. Starting at 8:00, August 26, at Putney Park, a fishing rodeo for all of the families to come out, fish and have a good time,” said Velvet Poole, Community Events Superintendent.
And, pickleball…
“Pickleball is one of the fastest growing sports in America and we are asking for people to come out and register. We do play pickleball on Sundays from 2 pm to 5 pm at the Thornton Community Center. If you’re a beginner or a expert, please come out,” said Poole.
