Dougherty Co. EMS Director Sam Allen appointed to State Advisory Council
ALBANY, Ga. – The Dougherty County Board of Commissioners would like to announce the appointment of Dougherty County EMS Director Sam Allen to the Georgia Emergency Medical Service Advisory Council (EMSAC).
“I received a phone call that my name was placed on a nomination list for consideration of EMSAC appointment, said Sam Allen, Dougherty County EMS Director,” “I am very humbled and excited to be appointed to the Emergency Medical Services Advisory Council. Region 8 EMS will now have two members on the committee”.
Director Allen’s appointment is for three years. He will attend meetings four times a year, starting August 15, 2023, in Atlanta. Allen has been the Director of Dougherty County EMS for six years, but he has been in EMS for 31 years and worked for Dougherty County for 30 years.
The Georgia Emergency Medical Service Advisory Council helps review policies and provides recommendations to the State Office of EMS/Trauma.
