Albany Fire Department now hiring to fill leadership role

ALBANY, Ga. – The Albany, Georgia Fire Department has a new position available and they are now recruiting.

The Albany Fire Department is looking for an additional leader to come onboard.

“The fire assistant chief over operations will be responsible for the day to day operations of the people actually house the stations, and the engines that actually respond to the calls that are held here in Dougherty county. And, probably consist of three shifts broken down into two battalions,” said Rubin Jordan, Deputy Fire Chief.

One needs to have at least an associates degree and five years of experience in fire science to be considered for the position.

“Albany is an exciting place to come work. The City of Albany is a great employer,” said Jordan.

“The Assistant Chief of Operations is one of our vital positions. We need an energetic, great leader with a vision to come in and join the team,” he said.
