Moultrie Police Department back to school backpack giveaway
Chief Ladson says events like this help to promote partnership between the community and law enforcement that is vital for the future.
MOULTRIE, Ga. – The Moultrie Police Department purchased over 600 book bags to hand out to families for the upcoming school year.
“I think it kind of fills a need for the community and maybe hopefully our contribution to the community to fill that financial burden for parents,” said Sean Ladson, Moultrie Chief of Police.
Giving out free book bags fills not only a burden for parents, but for the students as well.
“Just to walk in knowing that you have everything, you don’t have to worry about it, there’s no second guessing do I have this, do I have that,” said Tess Davis, Ms. Georgia Forestry 2023.
Chief Ladson says events like this help to promote partnership between the community and law enforcement that is vital for the future.
“To have a community partnership, a community relationship, we need to be seen as legitimate in the eyes of the people we serve,” said Chief Ladson.
Because if you plan on having an impactful event…
“Then you should put on an event that is going to fill the need in the community, it should be fun and things like that for sure,” said Chief Ladson.
