Mims Kids, Inc. holds 12th annual ‘Stay in School’ donation rally

Mims Kids, Incorporated isn't just handing out supplies, their handing out confidence...

TIFTON, Ga. – Mims Kids, Incorporated hosted its 12th annual ‘Stay in School’ donation rally to give children back to school supplies for the upcoming school year.

“The youth is our future, we’ve always believed that here at Mims Kids, this is what helps our community thrive,” said Milton Hall, Jr., Executive Director of Mims Kids, Inc.

Donated school supplies found in these bags included…

“Notebooks, pencils, pens, markers, all of the above, you can name it and we also have some clothing items that are going in those bags,” he said.

The Tift County Health Department also contributed to this event by spreading awareness for required immunization for students.

“We like to come out to these events because we do immunizations for all ages, school ages, especially the required immunizations for school age children,” said Yolanda Lewis, Nurse Supervisor, Tift County Health Department.

Being properly prepared for that first day of school is crucial for success.

“These free events right here is giving everybody a chance so they can be caught up and everything,” said Reuben Thorton, Event Volunteer.

Mims Kids, Incorporated isn’t just handing out supplies, their handing out confidence…

“Those pair of shoes might be a blessing in the sky and that might be the last little perk that they needed to get that boost to get ready to get back to school, you know they might walk a million miles more,” said Milton Hall, Jr., Executive Director of Mims Kids, Inc.
