City of Rochelle under Boil Water Advisory
If you have any questions you may contact Rochelle City Hall at 229-365-2244.
ROCHELLE, Ga. – From Wayne McGuinty, Mayor of Rochelle, GA:
This shall serve as notice that the City of Rochelle is currently under a Boil Water Advisory due to loss of pressure because of a water main break.
Any time there is a loss of water pressure any municipal water system is required by the Environmental Services Division of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources to issue a Boil Water Advisory.
In order to protect the public from a potential health hazard, all citizens affected by this shut-off are advised to “boil” all water prior to use for drinking, cooking, or preparing baby food.
The water should be boiled for at least one minute after reaching a rolling boil.
Citizens should continue to boil their water until they are notified by their drinking water utility that the water system has been restored to full operation, and that the microbiological quality of the water in the distribution system is safe for human consumption.
We have pulled required water samples and taken them to the lab in Tifton for testing, We anticipate test results back on Tuesday afternoon. We apologize for this unforeseen event. If you have any questions you may contact Rochelle City Hall at 229-365-2244.
