Two logging trucks involved, driver hospitalized in serious early morning crash in Albany

A major Albany road was closed due to a major traffic accident involving two logging trucks Thursday morning.

ALBANY, Ga. – A major Albany road was closed due to a major traffic accident involving two logging trucks Thursday morning.

Around 9:23 a.m., officers responded to the 2300 Block of East Oglethorpe Boulevard in reference to a serious injury wreck.

One logging truck was stopped in the middle lane heading east on East Oglethorpe Boulevard at the stop light when it was rear-ended by another logging truck. The 58-year-old driver was trapped by logs in the cab and had to be extricated from the vehicle. He was then transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital with severe injuries.
