“It’s difficult to overstate the importance of the marine corps logistics base to our local community. It’s got a workforce of over 4,000. It’s got an economic impact of 1.5 billion dollars to our local area and it’s Georgia’s only marine core installation,” Perry Revell, 2023 Chairman of the Albany Chamber of Commerce.

“They’re on leading edge technology in terms of 5G logistics and artificial intelligence. So, it’s important for us, the business community and the chamber to make sure that we’re partnering with the marine core logistics base to ensure that they have what they need because they are so important to our local economy and they’re so important to our national defense as well,” said Revell.

The event featured military speakers and non-commissioned officers and Marines were honored.

Revell talked about the leadership of the Marine Corps Logistics Base.

“I think the leadership of the marine core is an example for us all; their service, how they serve, how they lead, what type of example they set for us is important for all of us to follow. I think it’s important for all of us in the community to be part of serving. What can we give, how can we be involved, what needs are out there, and rather than, “what can we get or what am I getting out of this,” is “what can I give,” is a part of that service,” said Revell.
