Ashburn Councilman Smith awards ‘Yard of the Month’
'Yard of the Month' was brought to Ashburn to uplift it’s residents. Councilman Smith tells me yards in Ashburn are looking better by the month.
ASHBURN, Ga. – Ashburn Councilmen Sheldon Smith awarded the ‘Yard of the Month’ to an Ashburn resident with an yard that could only be described as… stunning.
“This particular yard is always well maintained, never out of order and he has kids so that’s a plus,” Sheldon Smith, Ashburn Councilman.
‘Yard of the Month’ was brought to Ashburn to uplift it’s residents.
“For years the morale has been so low,” Smith said.
So, to increase moral and the beauty of Ashburn Councilmen Smith wanted to introduce the ‘Yard of the Month’ event to Ashburn.
“In a neighboring city, Sycamore, they did it at one point in time and I just brought it along with me when I became a councilman,” Smith said.
Councilman Smith tells me yards in Ashburn are looking better by the month.
“For the most part some people kept their yards up, but yeah, I think people are beginning to get on board with it,” Smith said.
Ashburn plans to have more community events in the future.
“This is one of the first of many ideas I have to come, as a matter of fact me and Councilman Rockwell are having a back to school party for the youth,” Smith said.
