Traffic Alert: Miller Co. SR 91 upcoming closing and detour

MILLER COUNTY, Ga. – According to the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT): SR 91 north of Avenue Road and will extend to Old Airport Road beginning July 11th. A detour will be in place during the closure; directions are as follows:

• The North Bound Traffic Detour will begin at the square in Colquitt Ga where State Route 45 NB and SR 91 EB meet. Traffic will be diverted onto SR 45 NB until SR 45 NB and SR 200 EB connect in Damascus, GA. Traffic will then be diverted onto SR 200 EB until SR 200 EB meets SR 37 EB in Newton, Ga. Traffic will then travel on SR 37 EB until the intersection of SR 91 NB.  Traffic will then be placed back onto SR 91 NB, where the detour ends.
   
• The South Bound Detour for State Route 91 will begin where SR 91 SB and SR 37 WB intercept in Newton, Ga. Traffic will be diverted onto SR 37 WB until it meets SR 200 WB. Traffic will then be diverted to SR 200 WB and remain on SR 200 WB  until it intercepts SR 45 in Damascus, Ga. Traffic will then travel on SR 45 SB until reconnecting with SR 91 at Colquitt Ga Square.
   
  Note: Traffic will continue to use SR 91 SB from Newton, Ga, to reach SR 253 SB.
