Storms for Father's day weekend?

After a brief break in the storms on this Friday, a slight risk – level 2 out of 5 of severe weather returns for Saturday for the southern half of the area. The primary threats remain the same – damaging winds, large hail, flash flooding, and frequent lightning. Rain chances drop ever so slightly heading into Father’s day weekend and for Juneteenth holiday. Rain chances become likely again early next week as the active pattern reloads and we see more rounds of thunderstorms or at least our typical summertime thunderstorms producing heavy rainfall. This is really a cause for concern given the antecedent wet conditions and saturated soils. This may aggravate the flooding situation and river flooding may become at least a minor problem.
