Two Tifton Robberies Under Investigation

These robberies are active and ongoing investigations by the Tifton Police Department.

TIFTON, Ga. – On Thursday, June 15 at approximately 10:40pm, Tifton Police responded to the Enmarket located at 1819 North Tift Ave. in regards to an armed robbery. At the scene, the store clerk said that an unknown black male wearing all black and a hoodie approached the window, pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money. The clerk refused to give him money. The subject then fled the scene on foot south towards Tift Ave. Officers canvased the area trying to find the suspect and located a potential getaway vehicle.

At approximately 11:23pm, Tifton Police were dispatched to Murphy USA, located at 1830 US Highway 82 West, in response to an armed robbery. The store clerk said that a black male wearing a black hoodie and camo hat presented a gun, demanded money from the cash register and then fled the scene on foot west towards Walmart. Officers canvased the area for the suspect but concluded he fled the area.

Tifton PD detectives began investigations on both incidents, collecting witness statements and evidence at the scenes. Police officers also checked on all open stores and made them aware of the situation.

These robberies are active and ongoing investigations by the Tifton Police Department. No further information will be released at this time.
