Cordele FBC daycare closing its doors
The final day of operation will be May 26th.
CORDELE, Ga. – In April, the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the First Baptist Child Development Center to conduct an investigation after child abuse allegations were reported to the director.
CCSO requested the GBI to conduct an independent investigation due to a conflict of interest. To our knowledge, that investigation continues.
Today, in a Facebook post, First Baptist Child Development Center announced the closing of their facility effective May 26th.
The statement read, quote, “Please understand, we did not come to this decision flippantly, quickly or lightly. We also realize this may seem sudden. There is much that led us to this point, some of which is imprudent to share at this time. We and our fellow members of FBC have voted, and the decision has been made, as painful as it was,” end quote.
First Baptist Child Development center fully cooperated with law enforcement in this investigation and continues to do so.
