Albany Technical College holds spring graduation

Celebrating the Class of '23

ALBANY, Ga. – The chairs are ready and the stage is set as Albany Technical College is ready to say congratulations to hundreds of students at this spring’s graduation.

According to Albany Tech, more than 600 students will be in attendance Tuesday night…

With nearly every subject under the school’s banner represented…including one nursing student with some big dreams in mind.

“My plan is to basically just enter the healthcare field, and in a way fold technology into healthcare, because I know a lot of underrepresented communities don’t have access to like healthier nutrition and healthier habits,” said Enedelia Garcia-Romero, Nursing student.

Albany Technical College’s Director of Enrollment, Kenneth Williams says that more than 900 degrees are being awarded to this graduating class…and that it can even be an inspiration to others.

“A lot of times, it helps to change the life of the person, and can send them in a new direction. And, it helps to inspire others. I think it’s one of the big things that it also does. And, it’s ‘if this person can do it, then I can too,'” said Kenneth Williams, Director of Enrollment, Albany Tech.

But, for the graduating class, they’re feeling the sense of accomplishment of getting that diploma on stage.

“It’s an accomplishment. You know, it’s like a trophy. But it’s just something to help me improve on my life,” said Natranza Brownlee, Albany Tech graduate.

“As I myself am a high school dual enrollment student, I’ll be able to not only graduate, not only in this field, but as a high school student, and I can enter the workforce immediately after,” said Enedelia Garcia-Romero, Nursing student.

As the more than 600 students in attendance tonight get ready to take on the world, they’re thankful to the technical college and their families for all that they’ve done to get them to this point.

Albany Marine Corps Logistics Base Commander, Colonel Michael Fitzgerald is the keynote speaker for tonight’s graduation.
