Today’s Weather Authority Forecast: February 9, 2023
Happy Thursday! Clouds thicken as an initial cold front approaches by the evening. This front weakens, but becomes stationary into Friday.
A wave of low pressure will ride along the boundary reinforcing the moisture for widespread showers and thunderstorms.
Locally heavy rainfall and gusty winds will be possible with any stronger t’storm.
A second front and an upper-level low (which is a forecaster’s woe) will slowly creep eastward into Saturday.
A large mass of moderate-heavy rainfall as indicated by the forecast models could dump as much as 3″-4″ with up to 6″ possible.
If these higher rainfall amounts occur flash flooding will very much be a concern on Saturday.
A few lingering showers are possible on Sunday morning with improving conditions by the end of the day.
Patchy frost is still possible Monday morning.
Temperatures quickly rebound back into the 70’s by Valentine’s Day with slight rain chances returning by midweek.
