Tennessee homicide suspect arrested locally

CORDELE, Ga. – A Tennessee man accused of homicide was arrested while traveling through Crisp County yesterday.
Thomas Mack Arnold, 38, and a 1997 green Mercury Grand Marquis, were subjects of a BOLO (be on the lookout) issued by the Crisp County E-911 Communications, according to a release from the Crisp County Sheriff’s Office.
At around 3:50 a.m., a Crisp County Sheriff’s deputy spotted a car matching the description in the alert traveling southbound on Ga. 401/I75. The deputy verified the tag number and followed the vehicle from mile marker 99 to mile marker 84 while awaiting backup.
Upon arrival of backup units, the deputy initiated a traffic stop. The Ashburn Police Department, Turner County Sheriff’s Office and the Cordele Police Department assisted, and Arnold was taken into custody without incident.
Arnold is wanted in Cumberland County, Tenn. on a homicide, according to the release.
