4 suspects in custody after high speed chase ends in Warwick following smash and grab car burglaries in Cordele
CORDELE, Ga. – New tonight, a smash and grab burglary unfolded early Monday afternoon at businesses along Frontage Road in Cordele. The incident involved the burglary of three vehicles, with an undisclosed amount of merchandise and personal items stolen. One suspect was reportedly wearing an orange hoodie.
Law enforcement officers swiftly responded to the scene. Utilizing surveillance footage, they successfully located and pursued the suspects’ vehicle, identified as a black Mercedes Benz.
Warwick Police attempted to stop the car for speeding. The pursuit led into Crisp County, where all suspects abandoned the vehicle in a ditch near Hwy 33 and Antioch Road. All suspects a 16-year-old male, two 17-year-old males, and a 19-year-old male are in custody.
Participating agencies include: Crisp County Sheriff’s Office, Warwick Police Department, Turner County Sheriff’s Office, Cordele Police Department, Dooly County Sheriff’s Office, GBI, GSP, MCCD, GSP Aviation, and GA DNR-LED.
More charges are pending.
