32-year-old suspect charged in fatal Tifton hit-and-run

TIFTON, Ga. – Authorities have made an arrest in relation to the deadly hit-and-run accident in downtown Tifton.

State Troopers say 32-year-old Alejandro Cruz was arrested for hitting 81-year-old Johnnie McKinnon on U.S. Highway 82 last month. McKinnon later died from his injuries.

Cruz faces multiple charges, including hit-and-run and driving without a license or insurance. Investigators say tips from the community helped track him down.
