3 individuals charged in connection to fatal Albany shooting
ALBANY, Ga. – In other recent developments, multiple arrests have now been made in connection to a fatal shooting in Albany, that left one person injured and 29-year-old Markel Harper dead after being shot in the chest, according to the Albany Police Department (APD) Wednesday night.
At approximately 12:45 p.m. Thursday afternoon, investigators responded to the 3900 block of Leary Road following a tip regarding the whereabouts of the vehicle involved in the homicide. The discovery of the vehicle led to the apprehension of several individuals.
30-year-old Jason Lamar Gaines was arrested and charged with murder, tampering with evidence, and conspiracy. Another individual, 16-year-old Janarrian Oliver, faces similar charges and was transported to Terrell County Regional Youth Detention Center (RYDC).
36-year-old sir Robert Moss Jr. is charged with tampering with evidence and misdemeanor obstruction.
Both Gaines and Moss were taken to Dougherty County Jail.
APD says further arrests are anticipated in connection with this case.
