20-year-old female driver killed in crash now identified; Dougherty County Police investigating

ALBANY, Ga. – The Dougherty County Police Department is investigating a deadly crash that happened at the intersection of Liberty Expressway S.E. and Nelms Road.

Dougherty County Coroner Michael Fowler confirmed the identity of the female victim as 20-year-old Alicia Cunningham, who was driving a 2025 red Toyota Corolla, was killed after being struck by a dump truck.

Preliminary investigation indicates that Cunningham was traveling west on Nelms Road and attempted to cross the Liberty Expressway where she failed to yield the right of way and was hit by the dump truck.

Cunningham was pronounced deceased at the scene.

No charges are expected to be filed against the driver of the dump truck.
