2 people shot at McEachern High School in Cobb County, officials say
POWDER SPRINGS, Ga. – At approximately 2 p.m. Thursday, Cobb County law enforcement swiftly responded to an emergency at McEachern High School in Powder Springs.
The shooting incident prompted the school to initiate a “code red” and go into lockdown. The shooting occurred in the parking lot of the facility.
The two victims, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries, are reported to be individuals not currently enrolled as students at McEachern High and are being treated at Kennestone Hospital. There have been no reports of harm to any students, staff, or other individuals in this incident.
Cobb School Police and Cobb County Police worked quickly alongside first responders and other local law enforcement agencies to assist at the scene. This is an ongoing investigation, and we will be sure to provide more updates and details as more information becomes available.
