16-year-old accidentally shot, 17-year-old arrested in Bonneyview Ave. incident

ALBANY, Ga. – In other developments, Thursday, the Albany Police Department (APD) responded to a call at the 1300 block of Bonnyview Avenue in reference to a shooting.

A 16-year-old male juvenile had been shot and was transported to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, where he is reported to be in stable condition.

17-year-old Tobias Wheeler and the juvenile were together inside a vehicle when Wheeler accidentally shot the juvenile while playing with a gun.

Wheeler faces charges of tampering with evidence, reckless conduct, and possession of a handgun under the age of 18. He has been arrested and taken to the Dougherty County Jail.
