13-year-old arrested after Tuesday shooting threat at C.A. Gray Junior High School

MOULTRIE, Ga. – The Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office has announced that a 13-year-old teen was arrested and charged after shooting threat at C.A. Gray Junior High School on Tuesday.

At around 12:20 p.m., school staff were alerted to a threat of a school shooting. No weapons were found. The teen was arrested and charged with terroristic threats and acts and disruption of a public school.

The teen is being held at the Department of Juvenile Justice.

“We cannot stress enough how vital it is for students to speak up and notify a trusted adult or law enforcement when they hear or see something troubling. The swift actions of the staff and our School Resource Officers made all the difference today,” said Sheriff Rod Howell, Colquitt County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office increased police presence following another threat made Tuesday night.
