1 in hospital following shooting in the 2300 block of Ashford Drive of Doublegate neighborhood

ALBANY, Ga. – On April 29, 2025, officers responded to the 2300 block of Ashford Dr, in reference to a shooting.

The victim, Tyrekus Davis (26) was shot by his cousin, Jim Lawrence Jr. (21). Both were at the location doing construction work for the owner at the location. The shooting was stemmed from a dispute. Davis was taken to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital for his injuries and is in stable condition. Lawrence left the incident in a maroon Ford Edge (GA Tag XRF415).
