1 dead, 1 injured in late-night fatal shooting in Americus
AMERICUS, Ga. – Homicide Investigation
On November 16, 2025 at 1:13 AM officers of the Americus Police Department were dispatched to a report of shots fired in the 300 block of Pine Street. On arrival officers found two victims with apparent gunshot wounds .The victims were transported to Phoebe Sumter Medical Center and have been identified as Brandon Brown, age 17 and Kaley Mercedes Arizmendi, age 27, both of Americus. Brown was transferred to Phoebe Putney in Albany where he later succumbed to his wounds. A third subject, Royce Miguel Arizmendi, age 20, was present but was not injured.
